Is phase important with samples and soft synths.

I was wondering if when mixing drum samples and soft synth's I should be looking at phase issues. If so, what do I need to be looking out for? Also what's the best way to fix any problems? Cheers Steve...

Volume Envelopes? How else....???

Normally, when mixing audio in Sonar, If I want a particular section of one track to be quieter, (like pulling back instrumentation to under the vox track), I insert a volume envelope and adjust accordingly.
