Run recording through a cassette player

So, I recorded a new jazz Christmas jazz tune for my church's upcoming CD- it's a small trombone jazz combo. got myself bass traps ands damper plates today

They are small and fit into my "studio". But do you guys have any technique for putting them up. I was thinking of hanging the bass traps from the roof list or something so they are not into the wall but an inch or two out? The dampers should also be that way. What do you do with extraneous noises between phrases of a take?
