melodyne editor upgrade?

I upgraded to X3 producer last week, does anybody know If I upgrade to melodyne editor for 149! will I be able to use melodyne in my older 8.5 version of sonar? or is it just compatible X3?

    Melodyne is not locked to use in Sonar only so you can use it in any host whether that's Sonar or another program.
    What you won't have is the ARA implementation that's in Sonar x3. But you will be able to use it as any vst plugin.
