melodyne not showing at Region-FX
okay, I upgraded to X3 studio, but have not installed the lastest version, maybe this is the solution of this - but I am at work and cannot find out until late! And I got to know now ;-) When I click a region in a vocal, and then click Region-FX - no Melodyne appears. A few other effects, but not the wanted Melodnye. As per Cake TV, this is way it is supposed to work within X3... Will this solved when I install the new version? Am I the only one with this issue? Thanks for your answers in advance!

Did you go to the Melodyne website and register your program with the code you got from Sonar ?

The only thing I did was register. Then tried it by highlighting across a part of the vocal and then go to region FX . Melodyne was in the region and I selected this.

You may need to force a VST rescan of all plugins. That did it for me, and I think I have seen this mentioned in a few other threads as well.

I also remember going into my plugins in the browser and selecting vst3/celemony and putting melodyne in my vocal track the first time. After that I had to go to the website and register. Maybe that helps. Danny

dear all, did all the stuff you have told me, can't get it to work in Region-Fx. Oddly enough, I casn get it to work as followed: 1. select a region 2. right-click on it 3. select "apply effect" (I believe this is what it's called in English, in German it shows "Effekt verarbeiten" - vst3 - celemony- melodyne 4. right-click-select "insert effect" - vst3 - celemony - melodnye 5. the melodyne windows pops up. I then click on "transfer", play the region on the DAW, and the blobs show uo in the melodyne window! pfew. at least it got to work. But not as I thought it would be with the "seamless intergration" and as seen on Cake TV... Any suggestions what went wrong?

Did you perhaps have a previous version of Melodyne installed? To be honest I would do an uninstall of Melodyne and reinstall it completely, if a simple VST rescan didn't fix it (you did tick the "reset" box, right?).

What else are you seeing besides Melodyne and VVocal in there? No other plugins should be listed. If you see anything else PM me and you can send me a snapshot of the registry with the VST inventory.

I usually insert Melodyne as an audio effect. I select a small wave I want to work with and then select the Region-FX. I figured this out once when I selected a wave and then Region, only to find out it was greyed out...realized I hadn't inserted the plug-in.

Thanks for your concern Noel - there used to be other effects there, but now, after the re-scan, only the Melodyne and V-vocal is the left!

I'm having this as well. I have perfect space and guitar rig4 and several ozone plugs in there but no Melodyne. Says it's active and I can find it in the vst3 folder, just not in range effects. Did all the scanning etc. Have not had any other issues so far so I haven't done the X3c patch yet

I've been having the same problem. Also, when I drag an audio file to a midi track, for a brief second you see Cakewalk applying ARA then nothing. When I do Region FX, it starts to work and for a second Melodyne pops up at the bottom of the window, then disappears. I read the suggestion about uninstall/re-install of Melodyn, but how do I do that? I can go to Windows Control Panel and uninstall Melodyne, but how do I re-install without re-installing all of X3? I don't recall seeing a Melodyne only install.

FWIW, I had to add a folder to the folder list to be scanned before Melodyne even showed up as a region effect. The VST version worked no problem. I had to add the Program Files/Common Files folder on your C: drive and scan before Sonar could even find it. It seems the 64 bit version created the folder and placed it on it's own. The 32 bit version was the one that gave me the problem. It created the folder but did not list it and scan it as it should have. Anyway, after the fix, no problems.

When I encouter this situation I select the clip, go to "Clip" tab and select "Bounce to clip". After this I can apply a region fx. Haven't found what trigger this but playing with Audio Snap and transient markers seem to cause this 100% of the time.

I don't seem to have anything on my region FX menu at all and can't find a plugin anywhere in my cakewalk folders. Am I right in thinking I have to get this directly from Celemony? I already tried but I need a serial number to get it, but melodyne doesn't even appear on my "related products" list at Cakewalk. Can anyone give me a step-by-step guide to installing this? Help please!

Melodyne Essential is bundled with Professional and Platinum. It is not listed under SONAR though. It is listed separately in the Command Center and your account.

I think that's the problem; Melodyne doesn't even show up on my connected products list in Command Centre even though it quite clearly shows Sonar Professional. Rapture, etc. is all there, just none of the Region FX stuff. What else do I need to do? .......and a few minutes later... ---have just got a reply from Tech Support; they are waiting for more serial numbers from Celemony. Guess that solves that one! Thanks for your input..

I had same problem a couple of weeks ago for some reason one day, Melodyne didn't show up as a region fx (Ive had Melodyne4 Studio for some time now working fine). I had to do as you said, add the scan path Program Files/Common Files/VST3, I had done some Sonar updates and rollbacks which may have caused these issues.
