You get more stars based onn how many posts you put in. Hopefully posts that are relevant to the issues you respond to and have content in excess of +1. The benefit is the immense amount of knowledge you will gain from the interaction with other users. Unless you are dragged into the forest of confusion by trolls and the worshippers of chaos that frequent this forum. Good luck and feel free to ask me or anyone anything.

They are added to your information as you reach various milestones determined by the number of posts.

    New member upto 50
    Bronze over 50
    silver 500
    Gold 2500
Platinum 5000 (I probably got the numbers wrong;don't worry though If I did someone will be along right smart and correct the info)

Something like that. It doesn't mean much except how many times you've posted. It's no guarantee of any quality of help or anything like that. You'll see after a while that just because someone has a gazillion posts credited to them they aren't necessarily a helpful member on the forum. Conversely I've been helped by someone with only a few posts. So there you go. No real benefit. No Cakewalk discounts or anything. Doesn't really mena much. Discussion often suggest that the star rating system be done away with entirely. All the best.

There are a number of ways to use this forum.

Those who seek answers and tips to help them use their Cakewalk software can find a huge amount of excellent information.  The product pages and techniques sections are filled with some priceless tips. (You may have to dig a little.)

Others who want to find a supportive community to review and critique each others songs can find a great one here.

Those who want to ignite flame wars either for their own amusement or to feel superior to someone else should start their own forum where they wouldn't have to worry about dissenting opinions or facts.  Until then, you can ignore them without too much difficulty.

Those who just want to relax, be silly, and set the heavy stuff down for a while can find a friendly welcome here in the near-forgotten recesses of the Coffee House.

For the first few years I used Cakewalk software, I never came down here.  The only time I visited the forum was to learn something.  At one point I checked out the Coffee House to see what this was all about.  I believe that event is now referred to by forum regulars as the Idiot Invasion and it is considered to be one of the lowest points in our collective history.  I've settled in quite comfortably in much the same manner as dry rot or a flesh eating virus.

I do try to keep my stupidity contained to a small(ish) area out of consideration for others who may feel differently.  Sorry for the mess.

I found this weird book that I'm currently enjoying.  Doubt that would have happened on Presonus' forum (if they have one - never cared to look).

    Post Count.

    It really matters.

But be carefull, according to a thread upstairs using large fonts can reduce your post count.
