metronome no work

I can't get any response from the metronome. I can't hear it and don't see any activity in the wave form. It seems to simply not function. I have followed all the instructions regarding metronome setup and have tried all 3 available output paths for the metronome track.

I am new to Sonar but have some experience with other entry-level DAWs. I have configured the X1 trial version to work with my M-Audio FastTrak. I can record audio and monitor through the device, and can record and monitor at the same time.

Any help appreciated.

Are you using midi note or audio metronome? hit p on the keyboard to bring up the prefs then under project go to metronome. Try these settings. Check audio metronome, check the recording and/or playback (whichever you need) and you can also choose the type of sound the metronome will make and you can alos apply a count in for recording.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the quick reply. I have selected audio metronome. However, the selection boxes for first beat and other beats are empty.

the trial versions used to be somewhat limited concerning midi/softsynths..
might be better to just build an audio-metronome-track yourself.

I can't believe they would intentionally deliver a trial version without a functional metronome.

This is a known issue with the Trial installation. The solution is in this post:

I would simply use the drums...kick and snare to create a timing track. To me, it's easier to hear and it sounds better too.

Insert a drum synth and make your own metronome.

no synths in the trial version, but good idea nevertheless.. :-)

I can't help more on the solution for the "empty metronome folder".. I could, but I am not sure if Cakewalk wants the metronome to work on the trial version..

the trial version may still support VSTs ... if so, import one and use it.
