microphone fiend?

I've plugged the mic up into my soundcard and nothing is recording. Please help!@

    Well maybe it is the Dookey thing ya got goin' there!

    First what sound card, what type of mike, and what input is it plugged into?

    Next check the sound cards mixer window (small speaker icon in the system tray) and see if record or mike input is muted.

    I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!
