midi help

I have a Focusrite usb 6, an A 300pro controller and I want to add a Beringer midi footcontroller to use with Th2. Any special order I need to have. Do I need to do anything with the A 300pro internal settings?

I haven't used mine for a couple of years now, but I have a Behringer FCB1010 midi foot pedal, and I used to use it with Guitar Rig 4.  I do not know if you have some different model or not, but if it is the same one, then I think I might be able to assist.

I will try to find some notes I think I have somewhere on what I did to get it to play nicely with Guitar Rig, and those should apply to using it with TH2, as well.

There was nothing at all special that I had to do, as far as 'order' goes.  It is simply a midi device device to Sonar, so just make sure you have the connected port enabled.  I used to plug mine into an E-MU X-Board 61, but it doesn't matter, as any midi port will work.  There should be nothing to do in your A-300 whatsoever, as it will just pass data to Sonar (to the best of my knowledge.  I did not have to do anything with the E-MU when it had the pedal plugged into it.)

Here is a link to the Yahoo User Group for the FCB1010:

    https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/fcb1010/info

In the above, there are a bunch of 'how to' posts for configuring and using the pedal for controlling software, as well as setting things up on the pedal itself.

I hope this helps - I will be looking for my notes, and if I find them, I will circle back and post them here.

i have a fb1010 but i replaced the firmware chip with the uno version, allows the pedals to be used in a proper stomp box fashion... do you still have to configure the fx plug as synth for midi remoting? (i don't have x3)

I believe that was the one thing I had to do, yes.  And, I had to go through pedal calibration, and then I think it was just midi learn after that on the software side.

I recall building presets on the FCB1010, but can't quite recall if those were for controlling GR4, or if I was experimenting with doing keyboard preset changes with the FCB, so that I could keep both hands playing instead of having to hit buttons to change keyboard sounds.

In any case, the unit was ROCK solid for me, and still is.

I am actually going to be playing around with this later this week, as I am working with a guitar player friend of mine on some projects, and so we will be inserting the FCB1010 into the mix, as it were, for the pedals in controlling things in GR5, and possibly TH2.

(I am dredging from DEEP within my cranial soup for this, as it has been at least 2 years since I plugged in the pedal).

Thanks for the replies! Bob, that link will come in handy. Lawp, I did hear something about chip replacement. When I get used to the unit, I'll check it out.
