"midi libre" by Morenoise, latin groove with guitars

Hi all, whilst figuring out how the stepsequencer in X-1 works,I accidentally stumbled on a nice latin groove.I thought this was a nice opportunity to try out my new setup, Alesis io2 and a Behringer B-5 microphone.Have a listen and let me know what you think : http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10116596

Greetings, Morenoise

Edit: Did a remix, changed the drums, fixed a couple of fluffed notes( not all of them ) and eq-ed.

Sheesh...you can play that guitar!  I love this!!

I'm not too fond of the 'snare' or whatever it is.  Great beat, but the sound isn't the greatest (to me.)  Other than that, this is just beautiful!! :-)

Very nice playing!  Around 0:53, there was a loose string.  Is this the guitar that you fixed?  Sound nice.

Hi Janet, thanks for listening and nice  compliments, sorry to hear you don't like the sound of the drums, I literally spend seconds and seconds choosing that preset in Studio drums .

Hi Vechung, thanks for listening and good ears, was a bit rusty playing with a plectrum and that high E was just in the line of fire.Glad you liked the sound of the guitar, was worth the effort of fixing it.Still have to lower the bridge saddle a bit, action is a bit high.

    Love your playing.

Maybe a couple more seconds on the snare sound?  Or maybe it's supposed to be something else.  In that case, it sounds great. :-)

Hi Scotty,Radio, thanks for listening and comments, much appreciated.

Hi Janet, haven't got a second to spare  and it's supposed to be a technique called sidestick, where you hit the rim of the snare drum to get that "clicky" sound.

    Hi Rik,

    This is great!

The tune, guitar tone and, especially, your playing are all fantastic.

The percussion doesn't bother me at all.

    Excellent.

Rik, very nice playing. And a rich tone. Loving those little lilting runs.
That mic seems to be capturing your sound well.
The percussion is appropriate for the style, I think.
It's cool when you stumble across something that triggers the muse.

Hey Rik. Great playing. There's a tid bit of a jazzy feel to it that gives it a nice vibe. I wouldn't tarnish this with too much latin percussion. Not calling for that IMO. It's a pleasing guitar melody and a nice piece.

Hi Robert, thanks for listening and nice comments. It seems I've got myself a setup to make some nice sounding  music.

Hi Gary,I was actually inspired to "compose" something in a latin style by your latest piece. Messing about with the stepsequencer I made this little groove and thought it sounded quite latin, glad it doesn't bother you . Thanks for the compliment about the guitar sound and playing.

Hi Rhyno, thanks for listening. The funny thing is that I thought the percussion bit was the greatest thing since sliced bread .

    Greetings, Rik
