missing presets

I don't have an answer, I'm afraid - just another question: are you talking about the 'Presets' drop-down box in the VST interface/host/wrapper, whatever it's called (when you call up a soft synth it resides in a window with various boxes/arrows/icons top left and right)? If so, someone came up with a comprehensive answer on a thread here a couple of years back (can't find it right now) about the different types of synth and how some of their default presets are controllable from the 'Presets' box and some are not.

This treatment of VSTs is a minor annoyance to me. Whether or not the synth's default presets appear in the 'Presets' box, the box behaves strangely. For example, I can't get rid of the entry 'C:\Documents and Settin' (a truncated form of the path to my Windows Application Data) in Studio Instruments; Dropzone lists a similar entry (actually the path to my VST plugins). Even if I delete these entries in the registry, they are put back every time I open the VST.

This is not a huge deal but it just 'looks' untidy. Also it appears, from searching the forums, that this has been reported over the course of several years. Having experienced a few X1 crashes while making small changes to screensets, layouts and other innocent things, I'd feel a lot more confident that everything under the hood was solid if (apperently) small issues like the VST interface were fixed.
