missing tts-1

Haven't tried to use tts-1 for long time and now a surprise. Plug in manager doesn't list tts-1 but if I open an old piece that uses it, it works great.

Doing search for tts-1 in program files and program files(86) finds it only in program files/cakewalk/shared Dxi.

Did I forget something about tts-1? How do you open it/assign it to tracks etc.? I must have known how once but baffled now.

How could a piece use it when it isn't listed? An so on

John

Plug in manager doesn't list tts-1..
It should be listed as "Cakewalk TTS-1".

TTS-1 is a DXi, are you by any chance using a customized synth layout and didn't include DXi's?

    Insert-Softsynth

That's my point. It isn't listed there. But if I open an old piece that uses it... it loads up and plays just dandy. And then it still doesn't list it under Insert Softsynth

Well, you didn't answer my question earlier but a work around that I can think of would be to open an existing project that has tts-1 in it, save the tts-1 tracks as a track template and then you can insert it through the track template on new projects.

It's strange you can use it but it doesn't show in your Insert Soft Synth Menu. And it doesn't show in the Plug-in Manager?

Is it Excluded? It won't show in the Menu if it's excluded. You can view excluded Plug-ins by click the Show Excluded Plug-ins button. I excluded the Cakewalk TTS-1 to show what it would look like.

It isn't excluded. It does show up in the Directx Audio Effects(DX)

Yeah I thought of that. But I only use it to play midi files I scrape up from various places. Used it before because it's quick and handy and sounds at least decent. If it's a lot of work it isn't worth it. Can play them on Nanosynth but not quite as good as tts-1

But in your original post you posted "Plug in manager doesn't list tts-1". OK... guess I don't understand what's going on. Good luck with your problem, whatever it is.
