multi band compressor VST
Which Multi Band Compressor vst are you using? I need to get one. I saw the C4 by waves, not to fired up about buying an iLok or paying an annual subscription for future updates. I downloaded the C3 free MBC but didn't like it, my single band TRackS3 Classic Compressor vintage tube preset sounded better.

Did you mean 'multi-band' compressor and not 'multi-bus'?
As far as I'm aware, 'multi-bus' compression is having a stereo compressor on several buses (3-5) summed to a master bus.

Yup, C4 is a multiband compressor. My favorites are the MultiDynamics5 from WaveArts, and the one in Ozone. I use the Sonitus a lot, but mostly because it's lightweight, not because it's great.
 All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

Yes Mulit Band Comp.....sorry about that. Check out this one I just found 5ORCERY - meta-multiband compressor and it's FREE!!!. I'll have to download it tonight and test it. If any one can find any other MBC to check out please post the link

Ah MBCs ... I find myself using them less and less, except for vocals and vocal busses.
Voxformer, a 2-band MCB, might-could use a 3rd band, to protect the 2-4khz band from crunching. Of course we oft get around that with an EQ reduction at 3.5 kHz (narrow Q wedge)
For guitars, I sometimes use the Ax-FX pre-DAW processor with its MCBs (presets are OK at my intermediate level).
Using Ozone MCB on the Master is a no-no for me, due to max-pre-compressed kicks, snares, guitars, etc.
Using Ozone's MB harmonic exciters/saturations (includes tape-saturation fx's) is a much sweeter option for, say, warming the mids, on the master buss.

I use T-SLEDGE. It's a free download and comes with a ton of great presets. Google it.
