my recording just stops?? help?

Hi guys, just got a new hard drive for my laptop , 500 gigs , toshiba satelite l300 4 gig ram ,vista home premium
installed guitar tracks pro 3 and my external Zoom s2t sound card.

i can play my drum waves and hear my guitar fine, but when i go to record , it records for a few seconds or so and then stops..

any ideas whats up??

    Sounds like a drop out. Do you get a dropp out indication at the bottom, Milo?

    If so you might want to increase the buffer size under Options > Audio. Also have you optimized Vista? one of the things I found to be very inconsistent with Vista is the optimizing for background services. On my purpose built 64 bit system I have prioritized for background services and the system runs fine. On my Vista 32 system I have to run programs prioritized to prevent stoppages and motor boating.

    Just some thoughts to help you along.

    Thanks Doc, i got the buffer set at full fast and when playing guitar and drums together no prob, no drop out warnings at all
    im on defult driver too i think, bloody frustrating...

    Actually I'm talking about the buffer size in kilobits. I imagine it's set at something like 512kb. you might want to try doubling it.

    thanks again doc,
    actually I got it to record, but now its saying unable to save entire song , the audio disck may be full,
    on the c drive its showing in the gutar tracks thing C:\380039mb (81%) 44.1 khz 16 bit
    whats all that mean I got around 300 gig spare and 400 on my terrabite hard drive??
