need to program this pro 49 to 8.5 producer

among other (not sure if related) issues, i am lost in columns of digits, and reaching info overload.
i had hoped that i might get a breath of fresh air with this new edition, some thing's did fall into place a lot faster,
still, i am no closer to recording with this stuff than i was a YEAR ago(allowing for breaks to go chasing the coins, of course).
 
I have found videos, 'pdf's, books and this forum, to be both enlightening and and at times distracting.
 
right now i am trying to get this axiom i bought to align with the software so that i can continue to isolate the
reason(s) why i have yet to get any serious sounds through all of this accumulated stuff, RECORDED.
 
ok, now that i am finished venting, here goes,
 
1. can someone point me to a thread/book/video that SPECIFICALLY talks me through programing the AxiomPro 49
    controls to be in sync with the Sonar Producer 8.5?
 
2. Would someone please explain to me why this software keeps erasing the playback and timing masters as     
    soon as i switch windows(even if i go right back to it)?
 
3. Is the reason that i can't hear what the TTS-! is attempting to play during preview tied to something i have mentioned or am i dealing with ANOTHER string of issues?
