new X-2 book

hi everyone, I see that Scott Garrigus has published Sonar X-2 Power. I used his Sonar 6 book and it was wonderful and have been using his X-1 since I've been using X-1 then X-2. as usual the X-1 power has been very helpful however i'm wondering if spending $35 and change on the X-2 Power is worth it. I mean I haven't found that much of a difference between X-1 and X-2 anyway? I use the book all the time.
thanks

That's a decision only you can make.

I bought it simply to brush up on the new features of X2 that Scott manages to explain in his usual, uncomplicated way.

    Hi Joey,

There is actually a lot of new info in the SONAR X2 Power! book.

New topics covered include: Take Lanes, Automation Lanes, Automation Modes, new Smart Tool operations in all the views, new clip functions in Track view, Piano Roll view editing and Controller lanes, new Snap to Grid features, R-MIX SONAR, FX Chains 2.0, new ProChannel features, ProChannel Console Emulator, ProChannel QuadCurve EQ, ProChannel Softube Knob, and much more. In addition, the SONAR X2a update and features added in the SONAR X1a, b, c, d, and Expanded updates are included in this new edition.

SONAR X1 Power doesn't include any of the features/changes from X1a, b, c, d, and Expanded. SONAR X2 Power! includes all that plus X2 and X2a, so it's completely up-to-date. There's more info at: http://www.garrigus.com/powerbooks.asp

    Thanks!
    Scott

I'm a very late poster to this thread, I know, but wanted to toss in my two-cents.
I have the "Sonar Power!" books going back to Sonar 4, and have always found them to be invaluable to a slow learner like me. Scott walks you through not only the rudimentary processes, but gives you working examples to SHOW you how certain facets work. I am a "show me", not "tell me" type, and - while he never talks down to you - he explains things very well.

I keep my Sonar X1 Power book right alongside my new Sonar X2 power book, because there are still some things about X1 that I have trouble wrapping my brain around.

I have said it before, but I will say it again: there can be no money better spent than investing in Scott's book.
Plus, there are many neat tips and tricks to be gained on his website www.digifreq.com

Thanks again, Scott, for all the hard work.

Hey Joel... thank you too! I really appreciate all the kind words. By the way... and only if you have time... would it be possible for you to post a review for SONAR X2 Power! over on Amazon and in the Cakewalk Store?

Also, like you mentioned, for anyone interested, a free subscription to the DigiFreq music recording newsletter can be found at: http://www.digifreq.com/digifreq/subscribe.asp

    Thanks!

thanks so much scott, I was kind of hoping you wouldn't see my question. like I said, I've had SONAR 6 power and now SONAR X-1 power and it is as close to and used as much as my Bible, always within arms reach! as soon as I can put some money together i'll be ordering X-2 power but now (speaking of the Bible, i'm as broke as the 10 commandments).
thanks again and thanks for all your work with these books, without them i'd be lost.
