new computer for sonar 8.5


Hi.

I want to buy a new computer for working with cakewalk sonar 8.5
I would love to hear you comments.

processor: Intel® Core™ i7 950  3.06Ghz 64Bit
Cpu cooler: QUIET CPU COOLER 775
Board: GIGABYTE  GA-X58A-UD3R , INTEL X58  6xDDR3   2 x USB3  1X1394
Memory: TRANSCEND 6GB 2000MHz
Hard drive:   2 *  (1TR  7200 RPM  SATA III 64MB)
Tower: GIGABYTE Setto 1020 Aluminium
Powersupply: Thermaltake Litepower 600W ATX2
graphics: Geforce GTS 250 256Bit 1GB DDR3 
DVD: DVDRW X20  black SATA 

I'm using FA-101 device.

    If you will be using Windows 7 64 bit, and I assume you are with 6GB, go for 8GB of RAM.  I like the newer "modular" power supplies - it eliminates the clutter and potential air flow problems with unused power cables on a non-modular power supply.

    I do part-time PC support and my recommendation to my clients is "buy as much as your wallet can stand" or "buy overkill".

    check out ADK audio computers at http://www.adkproaudio.com/  bought mine from them last year, they really know their stuff, and have great tech support if you need it, they are in Kentucky, and you can call them on the phone and they will build you a custom computer to fit your needs.  I would get rid of the Roland firewire sound card and go with the M-Audio Profire, either the Profire 610 or Profire 2626, depending on what your needs are.
    Just something to consider.
