new install X3 Producer

Hi everyone I have just taken the plunge and bought a new computer for my latest upgrade to X3 Producer. I had been running X1 / X2 on a single 32 bit hard drive. I have now got a 64 bit quad core machine with windows 8 and  ssd plus hd and external hd to separate the areas as per recommended. Any advice please before I start my installation of X3 and my existing Lounge lizard / pianoteq vst's etc. Hope its not too mind blowing.

If you post this in the X series forum, you are bound to get a lot of replies.

Since everything that comes with SONAR loads into memory (i.e. no streaming samples) install all of SONAR Producer on the OS drive if possible. Use the second internal drive for Cakewalk projects and the external for backup. If the OS and Program drive is too small to load all of SONAR on it, there are options during the install process to relocate Cakewalk Content and DimPro samples. Put them on the second internal drive. The Loops and One Shots (which install into Cakewalk Content) and DimPro multisample directories are the largest user of disk in a SONAR installation by far.
