Welcome!
None of the DAWs are plug'n'play, no matter how "beginner friendly" they are acclaimed to be. Learning to use them does include a good amount of studying. Anyways, most of the programs have similar principles, changing from one to another changes nothing, because the basic settings have to be made according to the gear you use.
I don't think you can buy VC64 separately, but I'm not sure. I didn't see it in CW store.
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.
