new tune uploaded

Well, actually it is a remix of a song I had uploaded a while back. I recently went through the crash and burn thing that a few others here seemed to have fallen victim to, nasty virus that wouldn't go away. So I reloaded everything, I mean everything, and had to go through various programs and stuff, see if everything was working. So I pulled an old tune out of storage, remixed it and reloaded it. If you would like to give it a listen:
http://www.motagator.net/Gamblers_Choice "Not Enough", a Kristofferson cover.
Let me know your thoughts, good or bad. Thanks
Later
Albert

Hey, Al! Great to hear a tune from you again! this has some really nice guitar playing in it. nice touch with the synth scattered throughout. i would have liked the vox to be a little more up front, occassionally they drop down way too low in the mix.

other than that it sounds great! love it!

Thanks for the listen...funny you mention the vox, the last thing I did before converting it to mp3 was cut the vocals back a little...thought they stood out too much. Plus, I still don't like my vocals, hit or miss on the notes, shaky because of a lack of confidence, etc...
The "synth" is a fender rhodes sound font run through a leslie plug in, just a touch of reverb. So old school, still love the rhodes piano (or is that "rodes"?, never could remeber), the hammond b3, and the leslie cabinets....

Hello Albert, yes, very nice to hear a song from you again! I don't think you should even start to complain about your voice, really! I love it as it was, matching this song and style perfectly! I too love the rhodes sound all throughout the sound field, and the drums were subtle and strong enough to go along with flow. The accoustic guitars I'd like to hear louder, though - they are almost too soft. Bass, is same thing. I wasn't crazy about that faint distortion guitar though ... (just a personal thing, I guess ).
Good job, Al - good job! Thanks for sharing!
    Heinz.

Nicely done Al, very kris-ish the mix is very clean, the lead guitar is kind of interesting harmonizing with the vocal.

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!

Call me crazy, but I never even heard of Kristofferson! Sounded great though. I really like the overdrive lead guitar in the background. The acoustics sounded like a great blend with the overdrive as well. A great blend of all different tones. Profeesional mix man. Nice work. Thought the vocals were a bit high in the beginning of the song (maybe because it was just your voice and the synth). When the song kicked in though, everything blended incredibly. This was amazing Gambler! You did a great job on this man. Keep the great work, and thanks for sharing with us :)

Thanks for all the input. From what you guys have said, I think I got the feel I was looking for through. Really working hard at getting the mix/master thing together, plus getting everything to be smooth. Guess I must be getting closer. Now for fulfilling an obligation to a fellow music creator, must get some acoustic recorded this weekend, then on to a cover of a John Hiatt tune I have been building the drums for.
    Thanks again.

I like it Al, good job. The vox seem a tad high in the start - as the song moves along they seem to sit well, and as a guitar player I wanna hear that lead line a little more (but we know how guitar players are...nothing else matters! lol)

    Deep song - well done.
