http://www.cortidesign.com/ugo/ I havnt played with the demo yet...but will tonight. so far everything from ugo has been pretty good...just thought I would share..  note: just realized that this is an effect...not a synth. it will show up in the effects bin.

Yeah that thing looks pretty sweet. Pretty cheap too (though its infinitely more expensive than free....heh).

The GUI is gorgeous... I'll definitely check out the demo This page has 'bare' when it means 'bear'. And 'modulatable' when it means 'modular'. It's a rather pedantic pet peeve, I know.  but I have to tell you, I'm reassured by overall competence, and the converse is just as true. I'm so annoying....

I liked it. so i bought it. its a little cpu heavy, but I liked what it did for a couple of drum tracks. this thing is perfect for my style of music. here is a demo song I created using it. 5 tracks. RMIV/nPulse/piano nightmare/2 tracks of samples....each track layered with Metallurgy.. DEMO

Metalurgy is nice - it puts most of what one needs to muck up a sound (esp. vocals) all in one neat package. Plus Ugo's pattented gates/sequencers always seems to do something nice, whether it is his synths or the effect.
