newly developed “TTS-1” ???

On the page... “Which version is right for you?” http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR/Versions

The fly-out on Cakewalk TTS-1 states...
This GM2 (General MIDI 2)-compatible, multi-timbral, multi-output, software synthesizer's newly developed software synthesis engine features 256 sounds and 9 drum sets"

I'm not aware of any update ever for the “TTS-1” (and if there was surly it would be called TTS-2)
Can anyone explain what cake means by newly developed

Thanks in advance

I have empirical evidence this is true... (Bender told me!)

    Old content.
It would be nice if they date stamped the synth and effect list so you can see if there has been an update.

Old content was my first thoughts too and it's not the first time I've come across erroneous information. The TTS is as old as the hills so there has been plenty of time to correct this. Makes me wonder what else stated in the new Sonar is incorrect.

And yes! Date stamping is a good idea.

I noticed that it used to be called the "Roland TTS-1" and now it's called the "Cakewalk TTS-1." I seem to recall hearing something about "under the hood" tweaks...maybe a Baker could comment. I do know I would occasionally get crashes in X3 with multiple TTS-1 synths inserted, but haven't had any with the same projects in SONAR Platinum. That could be coincidence, though, or due to some other fix. I certainly don't think the sounds themselves are new.

Maybe somebody at CW will be kind enough to supply a version history, but AFAIK there hasn't been an update to TTS-1 since SONAR 5 (2005). My guess is the text dates back to 2004, when the synth was first introduced.

What I would like to see is somewhere within the forums where one could clarify and report such disinformation. I'm not an avid forum user so such a place may already exist... anyone know?

Just to reiterate, not only would a date stamp help the user but it would also help cake clean up some of it's older info files. Although I can't see it coming to fruition, companies avoid this for obvious reasons.

As bitflipper suggested... It would be nice if somebody at cake would supply a version history[<font].

I would love to see a new version of Cakewalk TTS-1 with real audio files. Anyone else for this?

It still has the same old issue of not working with sample rate 88.2 kHz in 64 bit.

Any body know why TTS-1 reverts to steel string guitar the instant I hit go no matter what instrument I have assigned to the track?

Check Event list for a patch change instruction and delete that.
