Pernod Ricard to sell Dunkin' Donuts when deal closes (STZ, UK:ALLD, AED, FR:012069) By Aude Lagorce
LONDON (MarketWatch) -- French drinks maker Pernod Ricard SA (FR:012069) said it plans to sell Allied Domecq's (UK:ALLD) (AED) Dunkin' Donuts unit assuming its agreement to buy the U.K. spirits group is successful. "We're going to dispose of Dunkin' Donuts to focus on our spirits business and we have already been approached by several people," said Francisco de la Vega, a spokesman for the French group said. Allied's U.S.-listed shares were last down 1.7% to $49.60. Pernod Ricard shares rose 2.9% to 136.40 euros in Paris.

the connection is more likely coffee and software
there is a Dunkin Donuts very close by Cakewalk headquarters

i'm sure DD deserves some of the credit for recent developer productivity

one thing that did strike me odd is that the article quotes that several people have approached about buying the Dunkin Donuts business. They said several people, not businesses or even businessmen, just several people -- maybe something lost in translation. I thought I should do what I coul dto make Greg H aware of this opportunity

Yes, there's a Dunkin Donuts in the lobby of our building.

When we moved in, they sent up complimentary coffee and donuts. (Pusher 101: The first hit is always free.)

We've convened a crisis management team to work through the weekend and monitor this urgent situation. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

However we do have a coffee machine, so rest assured that the development of Project5 will proceed unabated.

Years (and years) ago when I lived on the right coast, I used to do it the other way around. I'd attend to my spirit business on Friday nights and dispose a few Dunkin Donuts in the wee hours of the morning.

    Dan

(and, yes, a couple of sliders from White Castle have been known to make the early hour menu as well.)

Never fear there's always Marco Polo's. It aint quite Dunkin' Donuts but they make a killer breakfast sandwhich. And their coffee's a lot stronger to boot. If they have their coffee there everday the next version of P5 will come with a jet pack

Greg, the offer still stands to provide emergency cafe cubano assistance should the situation become grave. We're ramping up production now in anticipation of meeting any new demand. The coffee must flow. I have a crack fleet of trained mosquitos on alert and standing by; awaiting your signal for an immediate delivery at a moment's notice.

This offer is not contigent on calling off those hitmen (oh, yeah: I mean "presenters") making their way to South Florida under the cloak of the Music:Inspired Tour. This is not that; call it a relief mission. Here we have a situation that threatens a common interest needing protection: P5 development. As far as the doughnuts, though: you're on your own.

That's already in place, although implied rather than spelled out. Do you notice how Nick, Rene, and the rest of the Bakers are always answering with the "formal FR" replies? That's because they're out of doughnuts. I seem to remember a line in the Terms of Service Agreement that hints at this.
    I thought everyone knew.
I could really keep you guys doped up on glazed, powdered, filled...whatever you desire.
Be very careful with the selection, though. An unnamed forum member once sent a Baker's Dozen of plain doughnuts, and that resulted in the Groove Player.
