nforce4

I was wondering the latest on nforce4 mbs and the performance hit they get. I'm using a gigabyte k8n 939 board with pci firewire card (the onboard firewire port would not work with my firepod) and an ati pcie video card atx300 I think? Was there ever an update for nforce4 mb's that addressed the PCIe bus hog issue? I did do some searching but didn't find the answer.
