no MIDI sound on windows 7 64-bit for Home Studio 7XL

i have bought a laptop with windows 7 64-bit and also bought a copy of Home Studio 7XL
I can record, play and edit audio tracks perfectly.
However, i have made several drum tracks using Guitar Pro and exported them as MIDI files. I thought that if i opened the MIDI file in HS7XL and selected session drummer that it would play it.
This doesn't work, the MIDI file plays and the sound registers on the software but it doesn't come out my speakers, and neither does session drummer or count-ins/metronomes.
Hopefully some one can help me.

What sound card or audio interface are you using?
When you say "the sound registers on the software", what does that mean? Do you see a sound level meter moving somewhere?
What is the output of Session Drummer set to?

    Well, look.
If it's set to the onboard sound card and no speakers are connected to that sound card, you won't hear anything, natch.
What driver mode are you using for the UA?

In this image, I'm changing the output (O) of track 16 to TTS-1 which is on track 17.
You can see that TTS-1's output is set to my interface, Focusrite Saffire.
Check your MIDI track that it's output is set to SD, and SD is set to the UA.

Check out the way the samples are mapped to the keyboard as well - some manufacturers use differant mappings for their drums.I don't use session drummer anymore, but I think their mappings are (roughy) between C1 and C3
