no audio on playback after export to mp3

hello i am terry redfearn i am trying to burn cakewalk music i created to to mp3 and wav audio; i use the export button and file location i want to move into mp3 and wav file; but on play back all i get is a file being played no sound ; i am using a dell inspirion laptop intel core 3 chip with windows 7 64 bit program; anyhelp here is appreciated thanks terry

    You need to double click on the track to select it..... as you continue to click it will cycle through none, just one and ALL tracks... or you can hold the Control key down while you manually choose the tracks you want.... 

    either way, tracks MUST be selected.... then choose EXPORT AUDIO set it up for 44.1khz 16 bits and in the preset tab choose WHAT YOU HEAR... then click OK. Be sure you watch or choose the destination folder for the wave. Always export a wave then convert it to MP3 if you want.

    Right. And if you have any MIDI tracks running through software synthesizers, you have to select both the MIDI track and synth track.
    The tracks should change color to show that they've been selected. Scroll through the project to ensure there are no orphan clips in it. If there is, just hold down the computer keyboard's Ctrl key and then click the stray clip to select it.
