no automation lanes on projects imported from X1? SOLVED!

Hi,

Apologies if this has been covered before (I don't see it with a search though).

I've just installed X2 and just getting used to it. If I open up a new project - each track has a take lane and automation lane icon in th elower LH side. On a project that was started with X1 - there is no automation lane icon.

Is this by design? ie do I have to open a new project to use this feature? Or am I missing a setting to enable this?

Thanks - if anyone has any ideas...

Hello, I hope I'm not misunderstanding your situation,

I've just checked several projects I started in X1 and they do have take and automation lane icon's. I also opened an X1 project that's never seen X2 (thinking it may need to be opened, converted, saved before they show) but it has the icon's also. Sorry, I don't have an answer for you. Hopefully someone else who's seen and solved this situation will chime in.

    Thanks for your reply tKx.

I've just discovered that I can RH click on a track and choose Lanes -> show/hide lanes - and that shows automation lanes.

But there is definitely no icon - just the "take lanes" icon.

This goes for all my projects that were started in X1.

Maybe there's a setting in X1 that affects this?

    UPDATE:

My "normal.cwt" template from SONAR X1 opens with the automation lanes icon - but that's the only one. Very strange...

I've just discovered that horizontal playback meters hides the automation lanes icon!

It's not that iomporting X1 files broke anything - it's just that I always used horizontal meters!
X2 defaults to vertical meters - so all new X2 projects had the correct automation lanes icon displayed.

This is a very small thing - but it's still a graphics goof up!
