no midi, audio has pops and clicks
Hi all, When I go to MIDI devices, the only output device listed is the Microsoft MIDI mapper. No GS Wavetable Synth, like I would expect. THis is on my sister's laptop. How does one check to see if there is a softsynth within the soundcard on her laptop, and if so, why isn't MC seeing it? They laptop plays MIDI files through Windows Media Player, and it plays Finale files, so I assume there is some sort of GM soft synth on there; MC isn't seeing it. When we insert the Edirol DXiSynth, there are so many pops and clicks it's not worth it. If she was to buy an audio interface, what would you expect? All I know is that she has a Dell laptop. Thanks! Shannon

Shannon - I assume you're using some version of MC? change to MME driver mode close MC restart MC run the wave profiler go to MIDI DEVICES and the MS GS Wavetable Synth should be available the pops and clicks should be gone, if not, use the latency slider - move it to the save zone.
