I cant get any sound out. not even with i open dropzone and press the softkeyboard
This should work, regardless of whether MIDI configured right. You just need to make sure there's an audio track set up to host the synth output. There are three ways of doing this:
1. Check the "Simple Instrument Track" box in the Insert Synth dialog; this creates combined MIDI and Audio tracks with appropriate I/O defaults.
or
2. Check the Create First Synth Audio Output; this creates just the audio track with the input already assigned to the synth.
or
3. Insert your own audio track, and set the input to Dropzone, and the output to Master bus (which should already exist, and be pointing to Main Outs on your soundcard).
If you create the Simple Instrument track, that will likely resolve both issues. But in order to fully understand MIDI and audio signal routing, you might want to start by manually creating the MIDI and audio tracks:
One caveat, though: If you're running SONAR x64, you should start with a synth that is native x64, and doesn't have to be "bridged" like the 32-bit Dropzone. Bitbridge has some issues related to the bridged plug-in running in a separate application window that can cause you not to hear audio when the focus is not right.
I suggest you start with something fool-proof like Studio Instruments (SI) Electric Piano, which comes up ready to play, and has a GUI keyboard like Dropzone so you can diagnose audio and MIDI problems separately.
