numeric entries within 3rd party plug-ins trigger screensets and other mayhem

I obviously haven't typed the right search terms to queue an adequate answer to this. Most certainly the answer exists here already.

I'm having issues with some 3rd party plug-ins (for example: Eventide and MeldaProduction). When typing in numeric data (or any data) within the plug-in, even though the plug-in is clearly fully in focus (I am typing within an open/launched window within the vst), typing triggers responses in the greater global operating framework of Sonar X3 Producer. Suddenly, unexpectedly, I am unintentionally launching every applet and screenset within Sonar. This is not very pleasant. Is there a workaround for this? Thank you. Leonard

In the case of Eventide, make sure the "Give all keystrokes to plug-in" option is enabled at the upper right-hand corner of the VST header. This option should work for any plug-in data entry where the plug-in does not popup additional dialogs and windows. For MeldaProduction which does open a dialog for numeric values, use the keyboard in the popup display for numeric entry.

Scook. I very much appreciate your insightful reply! I was not aware of this: "Give all keystrokes to plug-in" option or what it meant. I will be using it!

As for Melda, yeah, I had resigned myself to mousing in numbers in lieu of typing because that's what got the job done.

    Thank you so much! Leonard
