I have HS 7XL - how many soft synth midi tracks can I include?

Thanks.

More than your PC can handle. I didn't find any limitation mentioned with search, it's funny how reluctant the salesmen are to tell facts about the software :o)...but anyways...more than a dual core can run, expecting the onboard soundchip doesn't sabotage the efforts before that.
Or actually, you surely mean how many soft synths XL7 can run. They require resources, MIDI tracks don't.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

so if i keep freezing the soft synths, the number of tracks allowed is many, many dozens?

i have run up to 12 on a 1.8 dual core at 48khz whith no problem, i don't think it is limited at all
most of the synths in sonar have verry small footprints you should have no trouble running upwards of 12 at once.

Yes. As I mentioned - more than your PC can handle.
But if you plan on doing such big projects you'll do yourself a HUGE favor by purchasing a proper soundcard. The biggest hindrance in using soft synths are poor audio drivers, and the integrated chips are never capable of fluent DAW-work.

64 audio tracks, unlimited MIDI.  I think the softsynth output track counts as an audio track as does the INSTRUMENT track.
