old post

Reguarding my re-install/latency problem I found my old post from Oct.8th 2008 where Robomusic replied=(One small adjustment, if it is a 24 bit SB card then 24 bit is fine, but you need to set MC to match the 48,000 htz sample rate so all syncs up right) and it corrected the latency problem then but when I did this today it did not correct the problem. Anybody have any ideas?

Hi beagle, yes I did read the replies but still no progress. I record drum(software)tracks 1st and the 2nd track gets faster as time goes on. I'm also getting dropouts saying the disk may be full. I don't have a disk! I've been using MC4 over 3yrs. and its been great until I had my computer serviced?

besguitaran - first - please stick to the same post so we don't have to go back and forth between them to read what we've told you and then read your responses.

2nd - yes, you have a disk.  you have to have a disk or you can't use a computer.  it's talking about the hard disk drive where you are recording your projects to.  probably your C: drive.

3rd - you didn't mention anything until this post about the tracks being out of sync with each other (2nd track gets faster as time goes on).  that is likely caused by using 2 soundcards at the same time.  you are probably trying to record using your soundblaster and listening to your tracks using your onboard soundcard, or you're trying to use a USB mic or something.  please let us know about how you're using your system - everything - so that we can figure out what the problems are and help you sort it out.

I use a 1/8th input in the back to record everything except track one (drum software)some settings= sound blaster audigy 1 in,4 out. Driver mode=WDM/KS. Triangular. If this issue is caused from using 2 sound cards how can I correct that? Not sure what other info. you need but I can send it. Thanks again

In the back of what? Your PC=using the integrated soundchip? Or in the back of the SB? I guess you mean  the integrated chip.
If the issue is caused by using two soundcards,  the obvious solution is only use one soundcard. In this case the SB.
Succesfull use of several interfaces usually requires interfaces of good quality. Not the SB nor your internal soundchip are quite up to the task, so together they are double trouble. But you can manage with SB, many use them without major hickups.

Beagle,I use the 1/8th input jack in the back of my tower to record. On the individual mc4 tracks it says (sb24live!) which looks different than before I had the pc wiped clean. I'm not sure how to turn on or off a sound card? What other info do you need. Thanks!

make sure you're plugging into the SB soundcard 1/8th in jacks and not the computer onboard jacks.  as long as you're doing that and selecting the SB card inside MC for both INPUT and OUTPUT then you should be OK.

you CAN disable the onboard soundcard in BIOS if you want - but it's not necessary as long as you're not using the onboard soudncard for anything (don't have ANYTHING plugged into it).  and make sure you have selected the SB card for INPUT and OUTPUT.

IF that doesn't solve your problem, you might need to download and install ASIO4ALL.

    google it
    unzip it
    install it
then change to ASIO driver mode OPTIONS>AUDIO>ADVANCED>DRIVER MODE = ASIO
    restart MC

check your RECORDING and PLAYBACK DEVICES in MC and make sure they BOTH list the SB card and not the onboard soundcard

    OPTIONS>AUDIO
