output bus assignment not working

 i'm having trouble outputting a MIDI track to a specific bus. when i try to assign it in the track view, it won't change. it stays at output being my sound card. however, in the console view, it does allow me to assign it to this bus. so i have 2 outputs, 1 to the proper bus, 1 to the sound card directly.
 
 how do i change the track view output from the sound card to the bus?
