output level

I found that the audio output of my Sonar 8.5 Producer seems a lot quieter than my system's default. When playing files through Winamp, or some video player, they are way louder than playing the same files through Sonar. is that normal behaviour, or can that be fixed somehow?

Its all relative. Sonar plays at the correct dB level that you set it to and export it to.

If you think your audio level is low when playing it in other playback systems, then your mix may be too low, but comparing sonar's loudness to a media player is not a good idea, as both systems are not calibrated to eachother.....

If your mix is between an RMS of -13dB to - 9dB, then your ok, as this RMs range is ok
