output sound question

output sound question

im trying to record from a 4 track tapes deck to my x-fi sound card
I get the recording level moving if I record a sample I can hear it when I play back but I want to be able to hear what is being recorded and this I hear nothing what wrong im doing ?

ps: I also try to use asaio drive no luck
