pan question - real easy i'm sure..

ok...we got a single track with two stacked clips. next i make a pan envelope for each inside each clip. the track pan is set to center. why dont the pan envelopes work? if i make it two tracks and pan them with the track pan, it works, just why cant I pan two clips in the same track? they do nothing.

Just guessing: The track pan controls the pan of the whole track and any clip FX can't override the track header settings.

Like if you insert a reverb in the FX bin and a distortion in the clip, there's no way you can hear the distortion without the reverb.

    Hmmm....what if it's a stereo track??? Anyways...just guessing.

Never tried panning two clips separately within one track (I'd normally just drag one of the clips into its own track). But if it works - and I don't know if it does - I suspect the track interleave would first have to be set to stereo.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

good suggestions bit and kalle...makes sense. - why else would they give you clip pan envelopes and not be able to use them?

update: setting the interleave to stereo did not help. it did not work. I will stick with the correct way.. :P
