As discussed previously, many of the entry level Cakewalk programs can't import instrument definitions, according to the literature, but Benney, and others have posted ways to do it, and I can testify that Benney's method worked for me.
First, you'll have to find and download the inst def. Then search Benney's posts for how to get it into MC.
Once you've accomplished that, you'll have access to all your keyboard's sound banks through MC.
I'm pretty sure Benney will give you a more detailed response when he next signs on.

LOL... I think it may be a good idea to make a sticky about inst def files with reference to myself as a possible source for constructing them for whom ever may need one.
Meanwhile xlrashn... If you can find an instrument defnition file for your device and email it to me with the subject header "CMC3 inst def file construction" I will see what I can do for you.

    UPDATE!!!

I have searched for an inst def file for the RD700sx but could only find one for the RD700. I have constucted the required file for you to install but you may find that a few instruments of the sx version are still missing. You can download the file I have constructed HERE!!. If you manage to find a definition file for the sx then I would be only be to happy to create the update for you.

Hope this helps you out a bit.

We can't even get CW to make a sticky about the many tutorials that millerbill and Robo have created.

but if you want to create a post that's meant to be a FAQ about the ins defs, we'll keep bumping it like we do those others....that would be a good idea and surely much appreciated for those needing it.

speaking of those others....I think a bump is probably overdue, but I'm too busy to go look for them right now.

    bill...care to bump?

What on earth is a "Bump"?
When you say a "FAQ", i guess that I create a post titled appropiatly and offer the problem solver in my own words and then you perform this "Bump" thing to keep it active and so keeping it in the users eyes when they visit.

    exactly.

a "bump" is simply posting the word "bump" as a reply (or something similar) and that makes the thread go to the top of the stack. I'm sure millerbill will bump our tutorials soon when he sees the request. I could, but I'm about to leave town in 1/2 hour.

but yes, just create something with an appropriate title, make the thread in your own words what they need to do and we'll try to keep bumping it to the top.

LOL... That was a good guess then LOL. I wil create the post in the next few hours.. gotta out myself too... I will also place download links to all inst def files that I have created for CMC3 within the post and just keep updating it. I think these guys will be ok with the links because they are free and without spam etc (which reminds me... time for some food LOL).
