perfectly good.
http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=11574163 I tend to keep things that are almost junk on the hopes I'll use them one day. I found myself saying "this is a perfectly good (whatever)" a lot one day and thought I'd get a satirical song from it. Constructive criticisms welcome. Perfectly good Verse1 I know in my heart Theres gonna soon come a day I'm going to need something That I just threw away. So I'm going to keep it I know that I should Because things like these are perfectly good ***************************** verse 2 Took a load to the dump and I was elated Some fool just threw away. Just what I needed. So I'm going to keep it you know that I would Because things like these are perfectly good ************************ CH Well it's perfectly good. It's perfectly good Because everything here Is perfectly good It's all good It's all good.......... It's perfectly good *********************************** Solo ********* CH ********* Verse 3 And when I need it I know I have a spare It's gonna take some searching But I know it's here somewhere I know that I kept it I know that I would Cause this kind of thing is perfectly good *********** CH

Great song. Like it. The bass needs tweaking I think. It sounds like an EQ problem to me. Its "fatiguing" which means in the 250 to 400 hz range or therabouts. If you have compressor on it, you might consider dialing it back a bit. If there is a low pass on it, then something else is occupying that space, perhaps another guitar.

Nice tune really enjoyed it. To my ears the drums seemed a little subdued but It's Perfectly Good. ;-)

Yes thanks. I am having trouble in the translation to the MP3 The Sonar tracks sound nice and clean and present yet when it gets to the mp3 it's dialed down and muddy. I made it from the master at 225

Well, I think it was mentioned in the previous posts, but I thought (which I have done myself) the right channel was just a bit weaker than the left channel, perhaps only in some parts but overall just a bit weak in volume. And the bass guitar and drums mentioned already.

Hi Glen, this song is really fun to listen too. The playing is super. I have good separation on the right guitar and left 2nd guitar. Voice in the center is good. I think the drums and bass were not bussed to the master! I hear the reverb of the drums but not enough source. Maybe check that and see where the bass is going also. With those two things fixed, this will smoke! Rimshot

Your lyrics are very clever because they describe much of the angst that I've been through when it comes to throwing something away. As for the song, it sounds like your lead vocal is about a foot in front of everything else. Others have mentioned some of the possible reasons for that, but I wonder if the instruments are slightly over compressed. I don't know what you use to make mp3s, but Sound Forge does a wonderful job at 192. All in all, good song.

Thanks Lynn, I think you are right about the backer trax. Over compressed, and the lead I have overdone the presence which is the opposite of what I had before due to too much reverb and delay. This mix I double tracked to get clarity and width but agree I have over compensated and need to find a middle course. Thanks again. Rimshot, thanks, It's a shot of me in an 11 pc funk band a couple of years ago.

I like the song and can certainly relate to the lyric ! I think it's great where some people find insiration for lyrics - not a strong point of mine at all, so I am always impressed with the way some people manage it from the most everyday sources. Only listening on lappy, so make of it what you will, but the drums are not coming across well - too much reverb/room and not enough of the actual drum is how it sounds here.

Thanks, it reminds me I have to work on getting my drums more out front. I may be suffering from drumitus due to playing too near the drums in my last band. He always "forgot" his shields and in a 12 pc band, there isn't much stage room.

Speaking from my experience, I'd say that at least that would make a change from everything being drowned out by the lead guitarist ;)
