pitch correction for vocals
Hi again, I have been out of the loop for a while. Are there any cheap pitch Correction auto tune vst or whatever comparable to melodyne or Antares?

That's debatable. You normally get what you pay for.

completely agree. years ago I tried using g-snap or something like it and decided very quickly it wasn't worth the money (and it was free!). melodyne essentials comes with Sonar Professional ($149 or $15/mo upgrade price) and Platinum ($399 or $40/mo upgrade price) - but it does not come with sonar Artist, or you can purchase Essentials for about $100 at online software stores. melodyne is king, IMO.

Yeah, a few years back I think there was a discussion on the various pitch correction options and the free ones were all panned as being worthless. Melodyne came out as the one most preferred because it just plain worked well and was transparent when used properly. Not cheap for sure, but worth every dollar.

I've actually had some luck with KeroVee and with GSnap (The guys have updated these and the newer versions are MUCH better than the old ones). However, since getting Melodyne I haven't had any need to go back to them. I think that they may do what you want, and the price is hard to beat. Glen

Hi, it deepends what you need _ if you want a real time pitch correction (Audiodeluxe is still accepting Waves voucher ) you can get Waves pitch correction aso for cheap. Or a small version of melodyne which is also Splat included. Don´t know if the price difference from Melodyne to a Splat uodate is relevant for you.

I used Melodyne in Music Creator without any issues. However, you need to check the compatibility of the MC version you have to the version of Melodyne essentials you would be buying.
Essentials is just as solid as the top of the line Editor version. It just has less bells and whistles and only does certain functions. As long as you can correct pitch and move timing of notes, you should be good because that's all I really do with ME anyway. I never use the auto-correct or group correct function. It's all a note by note process for me.

Sorry to read that , but as far as I can find out MC 7 can read VST 3 Plugins: Introducing Music Creator 7Version 7 of this best-selling software makes it even easier to produce exceptional tracks thanks to the integrated MixStrip, one-knob “Style Dial FX” for shaping your sound, touch screen compatibility, and VST3 plug-in standard support—so you can use cutting-edge instruments and effects from Cakewalk and dozens of other manufacturers. Then when you’re ready to share your music with the world post your music on Facebook and Twitter with SoundCloud. So can some of the more experienced MC user clearify if MC 7 can read Waves Tune (means Waves V9-VST 3) pluggis ? Do you need a real time pitch correction?

Yes ,you choose during the instalation if you need : vst ,2or 3 and/or 32 / 64 bit. Sonar is not official supported by Waves, but you can find many Sonar users running Waves Pluggies. A pitch-correction like Waves Tune you will like for live situations and slight correction in realtime. A tool like melodyne works not in realtime and with bigger buffersizes like 1024 samples .It´s not possible to use it in real time, but you can manipulate the voice much more and precise in intonation and timing. Melodyne is used in studios for vocal editing. If V9 is not supported byMC 7, V8 should work.

Pragi Sonar is not official supported by Waves,
Yes it is for VST3 format http://www.waves.com/support/tech-specs/supported-hosts and since MC7 is based on X3, it should have no issues. That said, I have no first-hand experience with Waves plug-ins.
That´s a new info for me, thanks. So I can recommend Waves pluggies to you, which are running flawless on my system for years. It depends on your needs, still no comment of you if you need a realtime pitch correction or not . regards
