polka nova?

Last night, I ended up in a old storage shed at the rail road depot turned arts park playing muzak for folks.

I sat in on a gnarly little drum kit and a very nice fellow played on a new for the house 1970-something Kimball organ. A guitar player stepped up and grabbed the house strat and played along with some cool jam band picking.

It was a gas... especially when the keyboard player, John, reacted to the tone of the organ by launching into a polka. It got crazier as it morphed into bosa novas and finally some klezmer stylings for a finale.

I wish I had a chance to have that much fun more often.

That must have been great fun!!

As for klezmer, I am always amazed at what a good klezmer clarinet player can do, often making that instrument sound almost human.
