posting on forum
Can someone please, please tell me how to put breaks between paragraphs in my posts. And what is the " " that appears in the Message window. This seems to be new, but I can't recall if it's always been there or not. Wo. I just noticed nothing appears between the quote marks in my post. The thing I was trying to indicate in an ameprsand, followed by the letters "nbsp" and a semicolon. What gives, here?

If I show you what it looks like it will just create a break instead of showing you what it looks like so I have to describe it for you. type a less than symbol, type BR then type a greater than symbol and repeat it all over again and you create a spacing break for a new paragraph at least that is how I do it in FF.

Google HTML and swipe the tags you want, put them in a notepad document and copy/paste them when needed. You have to use the "Open Full Version" above the Quick Reply box and type your post in that when using HTML or you'll get an error message. Also the standard HTML tag/link thing for images doesn't work. You have to use the IMG tag which I think is BB code. If you put a link in your post you cannot edit the post after so make sure if you are putting in a hyperlink to double check your spelling before posting.

I installed the IE tab, but I don't see how to turn it on. Maybe I just install and it works? This post should be three paragraphs.

Daryl: It's installed, but I does nothing so far. Does it need to warm up first? AHA!!! It works with the "br" tag!! Effective, if awkward. I can barely get the words out spelled correctly, and don't need any more complications than necessary. WT

I tried Chrome, FF, and IE, all to no avail. I'd still like to edit my profile to separate lines for items and be able to quote messages. Also, in message replies, what's the "ampersand-en-bee-ess-pee" that always appears at the start? I see it as I compose this message, but when I post messages, it disappears. And I'm still looking for forum help on this, but I get error 500 messages in all three browsers.

scook FF gets server errors when trying to edit some messages. FF just sucks IMO. Too slow, probably because of all the bloat crap. I love Chrome. Stripped down, clean and clutter free. I just click on the Chrome thingy on my desktop and it pops right open. No loading a bunch of god knows what, always updating, just a pain in the arse browser as far as I'm concerned. Plus you get all the same add-ons that FF offers if you want them. Mike

Its not you its the forum software. Cakewalk refuses to use forum software that works with more than a couple browsers. The forum software is actually a huge POS, and many have voiced that opinion, but I wouldn't hold your breath for change.

Ya know I never even checked. Every time I'm asked if I want a toolbar installed I select hell no. My sister's PC has so many they take up 1/2 her screen. I go over every few months and the whole damn family runs at me with their PC problems. I really have to stop going there. Then again, since Chrome is Google I would think that the stock toolbar is the Google toolbar. No? Mike

If you get Chrome I recommend getting the AdBlock+ and Ghostery add ons for extra security. Not sure if NoScript is available for Chrome yet. Personally I don't mind typing my own HTML for this forum when needed and I love me some FireFox. I have however been considering switching to Opera but I have no idea how that would behave with this forum. Cheers.
