posts don't look the same as i typed them
For about the last month or so, when I type a forum post, it has been posting as one long paragraph although I had started new lines or even double spaces. I can't separate my statements for clarity. I was hoping that it was a weird temporary glitch, but it doesn't seem to be going away. Anybody know what this is? Thanks. Also, what is that "& n b s p ;" at the top of the message box? that has been there ever since this has been happening. This is really weird, it's not part of the post, but it's there in the message box while I'm typing.

Firefox 6 perhaps? My posts have done that, too, since it got upgraded from FF5. There's a thread here somewhere. Here's one link. There's another thread that may have more info. http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2377907 In case you were curious, I've written this message in a block format with spaces blank lines after "somewhere", "info" and after the link.

I updated to FF6 about 2 weeks ago. I wondered if that was the cause, but I'm almost sure this has been happening for longer than that. I'm going to check out the link. Thanks. BTW, I don't even try to space my posts out anymore, I just keep typing. Thanks again.

You're welcome. In my case, I'm pretty sure it was the upgrade. I'd been posting normally one night and when I shut down FF automatically upgraded. The next day, everything in the forums went whacky. I like you're Arp Odyssey avatar. Good luck with your quest.

Use Chrome or Opera. The ability to double space returns

In light of the fact that FF6 is causing the same problems with other users on the forum, I have to go along and say that must be the culprit. My sense of elapsed time is not the greatest. As far as using a different browser for the CW forum goes, I guess double spacing is not that important. I may just type (double-space) instead. Hopefully FF will fix the issue soon with an update.(double-space) Thanks ;-)

There are other "symptoms" such as not being able to quote another message. The smiley icons don't work either.

Hopefully FF will fix the issue soon with an update. My understanding is that it's not something for Mozilla to fix, it's the combination of FF 6.x and the outdated version of the forum software (ASPPlayground.NET) CW's using. All CW needs to do to fix it is to upgrade to the latest version, which I gather is free. If that's the case, I wonder why they don't just go ahead with that, since the problems have been reported in a number of threads. I'm using Chrome now just for the CW forums. -Susan

Maybe they're worried about unforeseen bugs that sometimes accompany an update. (double-space), wink-eye.

It is only this forum that behaves that way,, spell check is brockken no spaces, Every time I post I get a big delay now while it re loads,, So you hate to give up Fire fox just for the sake of one ( lousy) forum. I posted a complaint to Fire fox and they got right back to me and in the end they say it's not a firefox bug at all just bad forum software.

using {quote} and {/quote} (with [] instead of {}) still works btw... We could {quote} and/or copy and paste the previous message. That's not the point. There are 4 or 5 problems that should be fixed and we shouldn't have to come up with work-arounds.
