You need to have X1a installed before X1b, and of course X1 before X1a. And then the lastest patch if you want.

i have x1a..... but, when i couldnt install x1b, i tried to reinstall x1a and it said the same thing.
i should note that, sonar is not loaded on my system drive and it's never been and i've never had a problem in the past.
is their a way to check my current version?

i have 2 internal drives.... i keep sonar on the 2nd drive by itself.... that's the way i've used it since it came out.
it works fine, i was just doing maintenance today. updating all of my software & defragmenting drives.
is their a way to check the version that i'm currently running?

I'm thinking the update is trying to find it on system drive....

You really should put sonar on the system drive and use the second drive for audio and samples.  that is how most users take advantage of 2 drives.....I can't see any advantage to not putting sonar on your system drive.

I bet the installer was looking for it by default on your system drive.
