problems with dual monitors?

i just bought a tritton external video card to run dual monitors.
problem is that second monitor is all choppy and when i open up sonar,im getting real hoorid sound..
kinda like if i was using the wrong driver..or if i had real low buffer settings.
im on a laptop with an intel graphics card.i thought this external video card had a video driver in it..i think im wrong but im hoping its just a setting that needs to be tuned up.

Many video cards have their own software - if not Windows has theirs.  It is probably a resolution mismatch, tho I've never had one cause audio problems.

I've seen those USB/video cards but I've always been very wary that they would be worth anything.  the USB bus has way too much overhead and simply isn't as fast as PCIe or even PCI for graphics.  are you using a laptop?  is that why you wanted to try a USB video device?
