The MC6T mp3 import has trouble with files containing album art and certain ID3 info, due to limitations in DirectShow. Try converting the mp3 to a wav prior to importing.

glad you got it to work, however, you should be able to import MP3 files into the tracks as well.

I use mp3 all the time when I collaborate across the net while working on a project.

Not necessarily, it depends on the mp3 file. If the file only contains music, then it should import fine. On the other hand, if the mp3 file contains images or certain ID3 tags it would fail during import. This problem has been around for years and is caused by the MS library used to import mp3 files. With SONAR X3d, the import process has been modified to use a different MS library and no longer has this limitation.

ok.... I didn't know that but it explains why several folks I colab with prefer waves over mp3 (aside from the quality issues) one told me he had problems importing mp3's... although I have never had any issues with them, I guess because the ones I worked with have come from other musicians who sent pure mp3 files.

That's one of the good things about getting old.... I can watch a movie and see it again in 6 months, and it's all new to me.
