question about SONAR LE

Hi,

Can I'm stuck at the following thing.

When I play with my guitar plugged in the Cakewalk device I can play "clean" but its not (so far) possible to turn on the "overdrive" in SONAR. Not when I play or after recording.
I see the function in several options but when I try to use it, well it does not work and it dissfunction the working effects.

I have tried a lot, but I cannot manage to get it to work. Can someone help me with this?

Greetings

The over drive you speak of would likely be an audio plug in such as an amp sim.

You first have to load the plug in into the audio track's FX bin. After loading it, the GUI opens and you can select the preset sound you want and be sure the echo input is turned on so you can hear the effected guitar as you play.

I'm not sure LE has an Amp Sim with it but if it does, that's how you do it.

Acme Bar Gig is a free amp sim that anyone can download and use. http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=298507

ah okay, so first turn the effect of overdrive on and then plug the guitar in? cause I tried it many times with the guitar already plugged in.

It does not matter when you plug the guitar in.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Are you using an Audio interface?
Anyways you can add the overdrive later after you record the track or if your round trip latency is low then you can use input echo and hear the sound as you play.

The same way you did on the first computer. Have your serial number and registration number handy.

There may be a compatibility issue with the plug in.  Isn't W8 64 bit? And my guess is that the older LE 8.5.1.17 is probably 32 bit. While the program may run just fine, the plugs (being 32 bit as well) may not be compatible with the 64bit OS... just a guess.
