question on fxb extentions

Even though I have had Sonar from the early pre Sonar days up to 8.5 now i have never learned very much about some of the vst instruments that can enhance Sonar. I have Z3ta+ and tried it but not put in the time to dial it in. What I see is the FXB extensions which I understand "B" stands for Banks and FXP "P" for presets?. These extensions are used over several programs like Pro sounds, and others but because Z3ta+ uses .fxb does this mean it can read other files that have the fxb extension. Thanks For any clarification & Happy New year. Wyndham

You are correct that .fxp files are presets and .fxb files are bank files but you can not load presets or banks from one instrument to another. They are specific to each instrument since each synth's architecture is different. However there are quite a few bank files available for Z3ta+ both free and commercial.
