quick fix won't start because TTSlame.dll is missing?
What? I did an install of X1, did the upgrade to X1B. What does this mean? Do I have to start from scratch?

space_cowboy What? I did an install of X1, did the upgrade to X1B. What does this mean? Do I have to start from scratch? Did you check if the file is there? It should be in the Program Files|Cakewalk|Sonar X1 folder. The file name stands for Twelve Tone Systems Lame encoder (mp3 encoder).

I had the exact same mystery with a "missing" TTSlame.dll that was actually present. I asked CW about it and they responded as follows: There is no installer for the hotfix, you must manually install this following the installation instructions at http://www.cakewalk.com/s...der.aspx?ID=2007013217 If you try to double-click SONARPDR.EXE from the folder you download it too, you will receive this error message. Please try following the installation steps in the article above and let us know if afterwards you are still running into this error message. Hope this helps.

Whenever you run (double clcik) SONARPDR.exe from some place other than it's proper location it thinks you are passing on DOS commands and you want to make a call on the MP3 encoder which is TTSLAME.dll. SONAR always looks for ttslame.dll to be in the same folder as itself. Not really an error code. The hotfix is actually a replacement SONARPDR.exe file. So you rename the original and then copy the hotfix version into the folder; C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR X1 Producer\ That is the Hotfix released hot on the heels of SONAR X1a The current Quickfix is the same but it does all the copying for you and places your original file into a backup folder. C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR X1 Producer\backup\Folder named with date of installing QuickFix04112011\Version_18.0.2.224\SONARPDR.exe

How do I install the updates and patches? I get the same "lame" message when I install X1 B. Can I delete those folders [backup], and then just install only the "B" patches. - A little confused here. I don't wanna do a total reinstall.

OK, let's get this straight. The HotFix applies to a release that addressed a problem with some audio interfaces' ASIO drivers not showing up in SONAR after the X1a patch release. This issue was addressed and supposedly fixed with the release of X1b. So, since X1b is now available, there is no need to apply the aforementioned HotFix. If you have applied the X1a Hotfix before installing X1b, rollback to X1a (without the HotFix applied) before installing X1b. The instructions for X1b indicate that X1a should be installed before installing X1b, but the X1b installer doesn't promt the user with a message alert if X1a is not installed before X1b, so the user must be attentive, paying attention to detail, that X1a is installed before X1b is installed. The installation order should be: - SONAR X1 - SONAR X1a (this patch is supposed to be installed before installing X1b) - X1b - QuickFix X1b build 244 Hope this helps.

Ahh I did X1 X1a X1b X1B Quick Fix That order makes no sense the way you posted it, but I will uninstall X1B, reinstall the Quack Fix and then do X1B. Thanks

Thanks Man, you might want to re-read yours and my post. Your last statement in the quote above sounds like you're not understanding something. The way you list the installation order in the quote above is correct. That's the same order I said to do it. Which means the QuickFix is installed last. I hope you see the difference between the HotFix and the QuickFix? There is a HotFix and a QuickFix and they are two different things. Installation Order: X1 X1a X1b X1b QuickFix build 244

Also: I don't have to install guitar rig 4 twice-right? One for 64 and one for 32 bit.

I meant the quick fix not the hot fix. Sorry for all the confusion.
