Shawn, don't know what your looking for here, but I liked David's original epic/dark version better. This is good, but I thought you did your own type of thing, and wondering, why are you working on this one of David's? Are you bored and have nothing to do? Come on man crank out a new piece for use!!

Hey John,
Thanks for the comment about my track.
I really dig what Shawn did with the remix. It's certainly different, and I of course love my version haha, but seeing people remixing my tracks has been really interesting. I actually asked him (and a bunch of other composers I know) to do remixes for a free B-Sides & Remixes bonus disc i'm gonna be putting out soon. All the music I grew up listening to, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, the Wax Trax Industrial stuff, all had singles and EPs and special releases filled with remixes, so I thought it would be cool to do that kind of thing. The remixes I've gotten so far are all really interesting. Like Shawn's for example kind of changes the structure of the song and added some stuff, but then another guy's remix went and replayed a bunch of the layers with live instruments, and then another guy practically made a whole new song just using some elements of the original... It's been really interesting and really cool. Can't wait to put the whole thing out!

I like this piece, though I don't remember the original. It's usually interesting to hear someone else's interpretation of your song. It's cool to see you guys working together. What will the future bring?

Hey Shawn Lee. I listened to both this and David's original several times each. Not being familiar with this type of stuff, I had to. I think you improved a great deal what you were given. The only think I can speak to is the way you've created a sense of Relentless Suspense that to me makes the song interesting and keeps one listening. I don't get the point of the percussion in the original. I liked the way you chose to concentrate on the repeating melody. Forgive me, I had no idea this remix stuff could be so interesting.
