Actually, EastWest "Pianos" is the more expensive library. In my case, I took advantage of the same special to purchase all Truepianos modules a couple years ago. When I finally managed to put a new build together more than 6 months ago, it was a toss-up between EastWest and Ivory II. A 2 for 1 special from EastWest tilted the balance in their favor. It's been a great purchase. I load up "Pianos" with 3 mic positions (close to 20k samples) or, 2 mic positions along with the "Spaces" convolution reverb (also from EastWest) and play in real time without any issues. Great sounding setup.

I was never tempted to buy the True Pianos/cakewalk discount because I thought the amber module that came with sonar was really bad compared to other pianos out there. are the other modules really that good?* * ****************************************************************************************************************************************************************** I just tried the Atlantis module and WOW, I have to agree with Brandon that it is a stunning piano VSTi It sounds so much more fuller than the other modules. It is by far the best TP piano module. I think 4front is on to something with their new v2.0 technology. I am hopping the rest of the modules get the v2.0 treatment, as well. The native CPU usage using the Atlantis is more than the other modules (about double on my Core 2 Duo), but it is well worth it. I really like that TP has a really small footprint and loads fast. The TP engine and all of the modules takes up less than 400MB HD space. I really am glad I made my purchase and with a full year of free upgrades I am looking forward to the full v2.0 update. Cheers, Billy Buck

I didn't care for Amber all that much either, but I did buy the full Tru Piano package back for SONAR 8.5 and was pleasantly surpised. I really like Diamond, but as stated up thread, Atlantis is amazing. The only issue with that module compared to the older ones is that it has higher CPU usage (which they mention on their website). I have compared this to Mini Grand in Pro Tools and like Atlantis better as well.

Followup to my original post -- I now think EastWest Pianos is more inspiring to play and sounds better in a mix, but I'm glad I purchased TruePianos.  But I also think it's not what you have, but rather what you do with it...

@ MarkBlair

I have both and completely agree with your conclusion. But I still have the occasional chore for Truepianos (including the Atlantis module). It's not wasting away.
