Tough to carry an instrumental track that long, but you brought it off. Good riffage... cool vid too. I enjoyed it.

Can't fault the playing, tones, performances or video here Peter, all superbly executed. I did feel the tune was stretched a little thin though, by the 4 minute mark it seemed like you were treading water a little.

Really enjoyed the track, great guitar sounds and some really unique progressions. Great vid also. Very nicely done. Best of luck with the album.

Well done. You really are a talented performer. Mix was tight and well produced. Video has some timing issues... hard to say if its the video itself or youtube's often loose synch. I do not know what you encoded this with, but so far the best results for both visual quality and audio synch have come using an mp4 container (fast start enabled), with H264 video compression and PCM audio encoding (IE raw wave) @48khz. XVID is one of the best codecs out there (some feel superior to Quicktime's excellent version), and it is open source, but requires either knowledge of the windows command line, or a front end of some sort. VirtualDub is a good open source front end, but requires some knowledge to use properly (it is a very powerful filtering tool).

Love it! Nice clean arrangements make for nice clean and tight music. Love the funky strat tones interplaying, and those crunchy pauls... yes!

Thank you so much for all of your positive comments and wishes with the album launch. It is much appreciated. @jamesg - I hear what you;re saying but I have to say it was a really fun track to record. The blues harp was added after the initial recordings and some space was made in the track for him. It was something that everyone in the studio enjoyed so we did get a little carried away but we all felt that the vibe more than made up for it. Thanks for the comments though. @foxwolfen - Thanks for listening. The timing issues certainly were not in the original video. It is definitely Youtube that has created those synch issues. The original file was rendered out as an mp4 at high quality in Sony Vegas but of course once Youtube gets hold of it you're kind of at their mercy. Cheers, Peter.

I was a little apprehensive at the start and thought I was in for a cheesy ride. But when the actual video started, I was addicted from the start. Great work all round

The music sounds real good. The production work on the video is real real good. FWIW, the video stream of your 480P copy is scaling the fps and it varies in real time. Right at the moment I am seeing it vary between 23fps through to 28fps. It's constantly changing in a "stream" of "scalable" video while it keeps the sound playing smoothly. You can not take an observation about a sound to picture sync issue seriously when the video frame rate is both changing continuously and completely out of your control. Looking real real good!!! best regards, mike

The original video is perfect as far as synch, quality etc. Load the thing up on Youtube and all hell breaks loose. You really are at the mercy of their encoders etc. Cheers. Peter.

It's not the encoders... it's the on the fly scalable video playback. That's the technological marvel that allows us to watch web video without it seeming to stutter when bandwidth clogs up. The big picture choices are: 1) You can have non scaleable streaming playback and no one will watch it stutter for more than a few seconds before going elsewhere. 2) You can do non scaleable playback and force people to download the video so it buffers optimally and plays perfectly. 3) You can share your scaleable streaming video with everyone and everyone can enjoy it to the degree that their internet connection allows. That's what YouTube is. All things considered... you are looking great! best, mike

Sorry Mike, you are kinda wrong (or at best misleading). Most quality encodings have no synch issues on Youtube. Only those that are not to standard do. Floating framerate and sound synch issues have nothing to do with Youtube *directly*. It is a function of the way it is encoded and the quality of audio interleaving. It can be a challenge to get to the output that Youtube likes, but it is possible. http://www.youtube.com/us...antonline?feature=mhee

The video might have a few small "timing errors" as you called it but I think that the general idea still comes across. Cheers, Peter.

Video is been something I have been working with since high school. But if you have nothing to learn, so be it. I will not press the issue.

foxwolfen Video is been something I have been working with since high school. But if you have nothing to learn, so be it. I will not press the issue. Thats not the point. This is a forum to share music and not the technical issues surrounding the encoding of video. I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on video encoders etc but maybe in a private message or on the technical section of the forum. Cheers, Peter.
